About
Independent by design
Almost everything written about AI for small business is published by someone selling software, banking services, or policy positions. This project is the exception.
Why this exists
Look for honest data on how small businesses actually use AI and you'll find three things: software companies' marketing surveys, banks studying their own customers, and static PDF reports that are outdated the week they're published. Adoption numbers ranging from 17% to 89% get quoted interchangeably, with no explanation of why they differ.
Nobody was maintaining the living, reconciled, independent view. So we built it.
What this site is
- Independent — no AI vendor sponsors this data
- Living — updated quarterly and when major studies drop, with visible dates on every page
- Sourced — every number links to its original study; see methodology
- Reconciled — when credible studies disagree, we publish the disagreement and explain it, not cherry-pick
- Original — from October 2026, anchored by our own survey of U.S. small business owners
